Do you feel like a broken record (assuming you are old enough to remember records), when you tell your IT team about some problems? You may think that your IT person is either lazy or overwhelmed. When I was working as a CFO, I know that I often felt the same way. However I have learned that neither of those reasons are why most IT people do not solve these persistent problems. The most common reason is that they do not have the specific knowledge to put together a solution.
For example, while your IT person may be very good at solving PC problems, they may not be very knowledgeable about networks. So when you have a persistent problem with your network, they are at a loss as to how to solve the big problem.
So if you are not getting real solutions from your IT people for some of your persistent IT problems, it may be time to look for outside assistance. It can be just to find an expert to help with that particular problem or as a more complete solution to your IT needs.
