Can IT Support Affect Company Culture?

Want to build trust and improve your company’s culture? Taking a close look at the IT support your team is receiving is  a great first step.

According to Stephen Covey, trust is an essential ingredient for the culture of any high–performance, successful organization. So how does IT Support fit into that? Unfortunately, many people grimace at the mere mention of IT support. They feel frustrated and unappreciated, which are certainly not ingredients for building trust.

When users feel supported by their IT team and trust that they are acting in the user’s best interests, everything changes. They can lean on the IT team to solve technical problems rather than look for ways to work around them. And when they work together (because of the trust they have built), they find solutions that improve efficiencies and make everyone’s life easier.

We have heard as much from executives who moved between companies with good and bad IT support. The differences in culture they experienced were drastic and IT support played a significant role in that.

So if you want to build trust and improve your company’s culture, you should take a look at the IT support your team is receiving. While it may not turn your culture around, it can be a great first step.
