Most life science companies have a backup system in place. Unfortunately, technology fails -- a lot more often than we care to admit. So, if backup jobs are not properly monitored, no one will notice until it is too late. It’s no fun to find out backups cannot be restored after a computer or server fails.
It is worth investing a little time to make sure your backups are working on a regular basis. It can be as simple as requesting a file from your IT team on a monthly basis. Just be sure you choose a file with dated information in it to ensure the file is up to date.
As with so many IT issues, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
