Is your IT engineer really a trusted advisor, or a salesperson in disguise? Rather than training their IT engineers on providing better service and being a valuable resource for clients, many companies are training their IT engineers to sell more products and services.
This can create two problems:
1) Biased Information
Many IT services companies that act as resellers partner with specific company in each category. So when they are making a recommendation to you, they may be trying to fit you into the “box” that they offer. Sometimes, their “box” might be the right fit. Other times, it will give you a suboptimal solution.
